Braai huts and storage huts are both new products that ASC Construction is producing to meet a particular need in the market. Many people cannot afford to build a braai room or a built-in braai. Building plans need to be drawn up, submitted and approved by the Municipality for such building projects. Many folks simply don’t have enough space on their property to build a braai area. And then, when you sell or move, you have to start all over again in a new home. Braai huts allow for all-weather braaiing. They are attractive and practical and can be tailor-made to meet any client’s particular needs. No building plans are needed, no municipal involvement, red tape or getting neighbour’s signatures and permission to build. Braai huts are movable – making this an option for tenants and renters as well as those who are gypsies and move often.

Once a client is ready to purchase a hut, they are presented with the various options that are available:

Firstly, there are three styles of braai hut – Each braai hut has a floor hexagonal shape with a pitched roof and six possible panels. A Gazebo has three solid panels including the braai panel, the Pavillion style braai hut has 3 solid panels (including the braai panel) and two half panels. And lastly the Conservatory – this has 6 full panels – three solid panels (including the braai panel), two half vermont panels with cottage pane windows and a cottage pane glass door panel.

Secondly, the client will choose the finishes for their braai hut. Once again three options are available:

Rustic, Classic and Deluxe. Rustic panels are shiplapped Vermont on the outside and an exposed wooden frame on the inside. Classic panels are shiplapped Vermont on the outside and the wooden frame on the inside is finished with a little more finesse. The Deluxe finished panels are shiplapped Vermont on the outside and are completely finished with knotty pine panelling on the inside.

Then, the client will choose their colour combination – paint colour for the roof, the Vermont and the timber treatment colour – light or dark.
Once these decisions have been made, a full, comprehensive quote can be provided and work on your braai hut can begin – on site, where the pre-manufactured panels are assembled. This assembly takes only a few days and your site is left spotless and unspoilt – you wouldn’t know we had been there!
Included in the price is the braai, the flue and cowl. Excluded is any electrical installation or plumbing fittings. Shelving and other wooden extras are also excluded but can be arranged at an additional cost to the client.

Storage huts are pre-manufactured, shiplapped Vermont storage huts similar to what many know as “wendy houses”. The advantage of a storage hut is that it is made of Vermont and can be painted and is waterproof and easy to maintain. Vermont is fire-proof and does not rot. Our storage huts can be made to size – any width, length and height to suit your available space and personal requirements. We also ‘clad’ existing wendy houses – create panels of shiplapped Vermont around your existing wendy house installation or plumbing fittings. Shelving and other wooden extras are also excluded but can be arranged at an additional cost to the client.
